Christian Hidaka
Biography
Born in 1977 in Noda (Japan). Lives and works in London (United Kingdom) .
Christian Hidaka is a painter who renews the genre of landscape. Christian Hidaka's works draw from a thousand different sources: Japanese landscapes, science fiction, psychedelic, surrealism, Renaissance painting... From his works emerge a poetry, an invitation to travel towards irrational and fantasized universes.
Fusing distant cultural traditions, he most notably combines Western chiaroscuro with the oblique perspective of East Asian art.
Locations for his personal exhibitions have included the Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul, South Korea) ; Mnac (Bucharest, Romania)  Le Grand Café, Centre d'art contemporain (Saint-Nazaire, France) ; Koffler Center of the Arts (Toronto, Canada) ; Centre d'art contemporain – la Synagogue de Delme (Delme, Franc) ; Le Forum Hermès (Tokyo, Japan) ; MRAC Occitanie (Sérignan, France) ; MAK (Vienna, Austria) ; MUDAM (Luxembourg) and Schirn Kunsthalle (Frankfurt, Germany).
