Jean-Charles Hue
Biography
Born in 1968. Lives and works in Paris (France).
He received his MFA from the Ecole nationale supérieure d'arts of Paris-Cergy in 2000 and was artist in résidence at the «Villa Médicis Hors les Murs» in Monterrey, Mexico in 2005. Hue's work was nominated for the Gilles Dusein prize in 2003 and received the award for best video at the LOOP Video Art Fair in Barcelona in 2006.
The video Y'a plus d'os was shown in 2007 at the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard (Paris). In 2010, the Centre de Création Contemporaine in Tours showed Y'a pas de prévenance. He participated in the «Hors Pistes» project at the Centre Pompidou (2009/2010).
He is also a full-length film maker after Carne Viva (2008), The Lord's Beemer (La BM du Seigneur) - Capricci production, was first shown at the Marseilles International Film Festival (FID) in 2010. Hue's new full-length film Mange tes morts - Capricci production, has been shown in 2014 and received several prizes. Hue has been selected in La Quinzaine des réalisateurs in 2014 with Mange tes morts and in 2017 with Tijuana Tales.
