Didier Fiúza Faustino
September 4th - October 28th, 2021
Michel Rein, Paris /1st floor
Michel Rein Gallery is pleased to present Didier Fiúza Faustino’s fourth solo exhibition, after MY CRAFTS (2016), We can’t go home again (2013) and The Wild Things (2011).
In this exhibition, Didier Fiúza Faustino displays a self-consuming intimacy. He offers a household space dotted with unidentified objects, at once practical, and of no use. The first room evokes a living room with, in its centre, a cage or well for providing both strength and protection.
The second room evokes a bedroom, with uncertain objects that you can grab and handle either alone or among several people, as well as a picture of covers, vestiges of another time.
This ensemble is a show apartment; witness of time passing, of the world that is shrinking, the anxieties of our fragility. Witness to our throes and pangs. As in a waking dream, we move from a stressed environment to a fluffy atmosphere. We waver between an irreal lucidity and a lethargic consciousness.
In this show apartment, Didier Fiúza Faustino proposes a temporary removal from the world and a plunge into a new territory.
