Sila Candansayar
Biography
Born in 1997, Ankara (Turkey)
Lives and works in Paris
Her work explores a singular vocabulary of signs and gestures which, when deployed in space, unfold dizzying narratives where styles and modes of attention intertwine. Her sculptures combine fragmented bodies and materials to convey sensitive mental states, open to the multiplicity of registers that contemporary consciousness navigates on a daily basis. Between meticulousness and spontaneity, they give form to a thought in motion.
Graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2025 and laureate of the bourse Diptyque (2023) and Mennour Emergency Prize (2026).
Recent solo exhibitions feature: ARCO Madrid with Villa Magdalena (2026) ; Galerie du Crous de Paris, Paris (2025) ; Les Réserve FRAC lle-de-France, Paris, (2024) ; Cabinet Studiolo, Milan, (2023) ; Palais des Beaux-Arts, Paris (2023).
